The FeedBurner Recent Posts Widget

Blog Widgets
Last time I discussed about creating your own Recent Posts widget. But it had certain limitations, so I have made another Recent Posts widget using FeedBurner to overcome those limitations. If you scroll right down my blog, you would see one such widget. But to avail of this widget, you need to have an account with FeedBurner, which is now Google FeedBurner. The features of this Recent Posts widget are:

1. It can display more than 5 recent posts, the maximum being all your posts.
2. It updates itself more quickly.
3. It is a lot more customizable than the previous widget.

Here are the steps that you need to follow to create your own Recent Posts widget using FeedBurner:

1. Login to your Google FeedBurner dashboard and go to your blog's feed stat page.
2. Click on the Publicize tab.
3. Go to the BuzzBoost options.
4. Under Feed Settings, fill out the number of recent posts that you would like to display.
5. Under the Feed Content to Display heading, fill out the details to customize your widget. For example, you can add a meaningful name to your widget like Recent Posts at Display Feed Title, you can display the favicon of your blog, if one is present and so on and so forth.
6. Save your settings and copy the code given at the top.
7. Go over to your Blogger dashboard.
8. Go to your blog's layout settings and add a HTML/JavaScript gadget and add the copied code into it.
9. Save it and you are ready to go.

Wasn't that simple? Do let me know what more widgets you would like to get your hands on to for your own blog, I would really like to hear from you. And please do not forget to check my sponsors on the sidebar, their help is invaluable in running this site.
