Antaheen - Ek Opekha

love, romance relationship

[I had stopped writing in Bengali a long time back. But after watching Antaheen on 31st January, 2009, I felt the need to write in Bengali once again. On one hand this is about R, on the other, this is another tribute to Antaheen, one of the best Bengali movies that I have ever seen.]

@Ruchishila : Thank you very much for your comment. It's good to know that my words to tend to touch the heart of my Constant Readers.

I agree with Ruchishila completely. You have, with a touch of true genius, put into words those very emotions which many of us feel, those ideas of love which lie deep within us in an abstract way, things we cannot really put a finger on.

And when we get this wonderful work of true art, for true art is that which expresses succinctly the truely abstract, it did bring tears to my eyes and rendered me speechless for a few moments.

And yes we are all waiting for the next pearl...

@Madhurima : I honestly don't know what to say. Every poet at times fumble with words like I am right now. Thank you for your comments. It's these comments that inspires me, to dream, to think, to write.

"Antaheen-ek opekha"-the much talked about movie is nothing but a synthetic approach to look into the "depth" of so called urbane HIG populace..it's synthetic because it's never tries to look into the "detailing" beyond laptop, cell phone, chatting and cocktail parties...
the romance between rahul bose and apte never reaches to that passionate peak which was so very desired....songs were supportive enough to create some memorable moments but then again a film is not about some picturesque moments only...

(Rajtilak this is not a comment on your writing...we are glad that u have written something special in Bengali...Jai Ho!!!!)

@Sharmi : For some people, there is no life beyond laptop, cell phone, chatting and cocktail parties. This movie is for those people, to make them realize what they are lacking, what they are missing.

About the romantic angle between Rahul Bose and Miss Apte, as I had written in my piece, sometimes the fulfillment of love is in it's unfulfilled desires. Sometimes unspoken words speaks volumes than a million letters put together.

Of course, everybody has their own way of quantifying love and emotions and I do respect it. But for me, this is one of the best Bengali movies I have ever seen. The reason why I am saying this is because I can relate to those people and what they are going through much more than any other character that I have seen in recent times.

Thank you very much for your comment, it was due for a long time.
